Financial Services, Banks and Money Exchanges
Although San Pancho Francisco has a strong Canadian and American influence, it’s still located in Mexico where using Mexican pesos is an advantage. While some local establishments may take Canadian and US dollars, paying with pesos usually results in a lower price on both services and products, since it eliminates the high exchange rates charged by businesses. For the moment, there are no banks in town but there are two money exchange offices and an ATM machine near the plaza. If you’re flying into the Puerto Vallarta airport, the word is the best exchange rates are offered at the on-site HSBC money exchange office. The nearest banks are south of San Pancho Francisco in Bucerias and north in La Peñita de Jaltemba. More complex financial services are best handled at nearby banks and banking institutions.
